VCI Front Page

VCIs are user created items that can be brought into Virtual Cast. You can not only bring 3D objects into Virtual Cast but also embed your own scripts into them. The scripting language used is Lua.

What can VCI do?

VCI has different features according to its type; item or background.

What can a VCI item do?

In addition to the Virtual Cast GLB, you can use the following features.

  • Set physical collision (Collider)
  • Set physical parameters (RigidBody)
  • Set physical constraint (Joint)
  • Can be grabbed (Grab)
  • Can embed wav file
  • Can embed scripts

What can scripts do?

  • You can write callbacks for physical collision events
  • You can write callbacks for grip buttons while grabbing
  • You can manipulate materials in VCI
  • You can manipulate animations in VCI
  • You can manipulate wavs in VCI
  • You can manipulate SubItems in VCI

What can a VCI background do?

*As of 23 Feb 2019, “items” and “backgrounds” have different behaviors. You cannot run scripts in backgrounds; only colliders and rigidbodies can be set.
In addition to the Virtual Cast GLB, you can use the following features.

  • Set physical collision (Collider)
  • As there is no network sync in place, please set colliders that do not move.
  • Set physical parameters (RigidBody)

From installation of development environment to creation and execution of items

Import VCI package into Unity, export items and upload it to The Seed Online. You can embed scripts into items loaded into Virtual Cast.
